The Concrete Foundation record label was formed in 1995 by DJ Concrete. After a host of classic Mixtapes that had much success from 1986 to the present DJ Concrete has always repped his neighborhoods of Irvington, Yale Heights, Kossuth, Morley, Palermo, BMORE N Hilton, and Edmondson Village. Concrete always had the following and backing of his city.
In 1994 DJ Concrete was ready to open up another realm to his musical journey , stay true and dedicated to hip hop by producing tracks .In putting together a collection of songs that would later become legendary .Concrete was really ready to get things in motion. Concrete reached out to a childhood friend and MC by the name of K Mack. Concrete was also in search of one more artist which became Silouette.The two solo artists would keep it true to DJ Concrete and the trio cranked out some real Baltimore Rap Classics.Those classics consist of the 12" singles by Silouette 'Can You Feel It','Worried' (No Question),'The Fast Lane', 'Bring'n It Back', 'Rated R', 'The Storm' and a host of many others that were on her debut solo album titled 'Chocolate Malibu' .K Mack had hits like 'In Baltimore','Do Or Die','Speak The Clout','Spot Frontin MC's' and many more and 'The Blue Tape' !!

Constant Deviants, the Brooklyn - meets - Baltimore duo comprised of rapper M.I. and producer DJ Cutt, have a career that dates back to the mid-90s and includes major label deals and collaborations with the likes of N.O.R.E., Roc-A-Fella Records, and more along the way. Utilizing their experience in the industry, Constant Deviants started their own label, SIX2SIX Records, in 2009, and haven't looked back since, using their own imprint as a means to cultivate their signature sound that has since spanned countless vinyl releases and the release of their Platinum Mixtape in 2011. Now, after months of work writing, recording, and refining, Constant Deviants are finally ready to unveil their latest album, DIAMOND, which will be released this Tuesday, November 20th.

In 1998, when Constant Deviants were fresh on the scene, the duo released “Can’t Stop,” an ode to hip-hop that put the duo of M.I. and DJ Cutt on the map. The single served as the foundation for Constant Deviants’ now loyal fan base, a swarm of supporters that eventually led Constant Deviants to form their own label, SIX2SIX Records.

Now, 14 years later and with their latest album DIAMOND scheduled for release this fall, Constant Deviants are revisiting the track with a sequel, of sorts, fittingly titled “Won’t Stop.” “The song is a letter to hip-hop,” explains M.I., “and since it’s Part 2 of the record we put out in ’98, the point was to capture the feeling of NYC in 2012.” Musically, they strike a perfect balance between the two eras, with DJ Cutt’s crackling, soulful chops and driving drums, and M.I. at his most earnest – and strongest lyrically – recounting the story of how he fell in love with the music he wound up dedicating his life to.The video, directed by Jimmy Powell and IHenry, captures much of the same classic feel, with shots of M.I. and Cutt making their way across the Brooklyn Bridge and around New York City.

Recorded with DMM ® The process of Direct Metal Mastering (hard surface material) over acetate lacquer cutting (soft surface material) are both sonic and practical: because of the rigidity of the master disc medium, no groove wall bounce-back effects take place after the cutting has been completed. This preserves the original modulation details in the groove walls much better, especially those involved with sudden fast attacks (transients). The improved transient response, as well as the more linear phase response of DMM improve the overall stability and depth-of-field in the stereo image. In addition, disturbing adjacent groove print-through sounds (groove echoes) are reduced in DMM. Also, there is no need to rush the finalized master disc directly into a refrigerator for groove preservation, as in conventional lacquer disc cutting, before processing the master disc to produce matrices for the pressing of the records.

Premiering today is "Walk of Fame," a track which stays true to the Deviants' sample-driven and boom-bap-embracing sound.

Reinforcing their New York roots – "Walk of Fame" contains a Frank Sinatra sample while the drums are sampled from the classic "Impeach The President" break, by the Honey Drippers. Raw, dusty and full of soul, "Walk of Fame" is more of a race to better days than anything. As M.I. says of the message, "We're just kind of relaying some of the urban plight and expressing a plan to escape!"
